Marcy A. Tayler brings extensive experience to the insurance law and defense litigation
practice of Zausmer, Kaufman, August, Caldwell & Tayler, focusing on insurance defense
litigation, insurance coverage issues, general civil litigation and negligence law.
Ms. Tayler gained her in-depth knowledge in insurance law and defense litigation from
over 12 years of practice as corporate counsel for Allstate Insurance Company.
During her tenure at the company, Ms. Tayler was instrumental in the creation of
Allstate's Litigation Fraud Unit and worked closely with Allstate's special investigation unit
in the defense of hundreds of insurance fraud cases.
Ms. Tayler continues to represent Allstate and other large insurance companies including
State Farm Insurance Company, Titan Insurance Company and Philadelphia Insurance Company
. She draws on her extensive experience in the
litigation of complex first party and third party no-fault cases and premises liability matters.
Prior to her career with Allstate, Ms. Tayler was appointed as an Assistant Prosecutor
in the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, where she gained considerable courtroom and
trial experience. While pursuing her law degree at Wayne State University, Ms. Tayler
was awarded an internship with the Honorable Judge George E. Woods of the U.S. District
Court, Eastern District of Michigan.
Ms. Tayler speaks regularly at seminars and trains lawyers in trial procedure and
practice. She is a Wayne County mediator and she is often appointed as an arbitrator in
insurance-related matters. She was recently appointed to the State Bar of Michigan Character
and Fitness Committee.
