Andrea M. Johnson focuses her practice in civil litigation, and specifically, employment litigation, products liability, premises, and general negligence claims. She has extensive litigation experience handling high exposure matters through all aspects of litigation. Ms. Johnson regularly advises clients through all aspects of the employment relationship including the hiring, discipline, and termination of employees, as well as drafting of employee handbooks, severance agreements, and contract negotiations. She regularly practices in both state and federal courts, and defends charges at the EEOC and MDCR.
In 2008, Ms. Johnson was recognized by Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" within the legal community. Andrea is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. She has been admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, as well as the United States District Court in both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Ms. Johnson also regularly serves as a Case Evaluator in Oakland County on the employment law panel.
Ms. Johnson is a 2001 graduate from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, where she studied Political Science. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, cum laude, in 2004. While at the University of Detroit Mercy, Ms. Johnson was a Title Editor of the Law Review, a recipient of the Jerome P. Cavanagh Scholarship, and a member of the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society, representing graduation in the top 10% of her law school class.
